Buying Furniture

Buying furniture can be expensive and sometimes stressful. Here are some useful tips that can help:

  • When you choose a suite in the showroom, you have no rights if you choose the wrong size, give the wrong measurements or simply change your mind.

  • Buying over the internet or by mail order can give you greater protection. You may have 7 working days to return the goods, even if you make a mistake over the size or change your mind.

  • If your furniture is damaged or develops a faulty and you bought on credit, you may be able to claim against the finance company.

  • All upholstered furniture, including second-hand items, must meet fire resistance standards - look for a label on the item confirming this.

If you have any problems with the purchase of your new suite you can call Consumer Direct on 08454 04 05 06.
